Cool little diner, pretty cozy. They have homemade burger patties, wished they changed the bread to ciabatta ones. They also have homemade pies. Service was good. Overall, a great stop for lunch.

Although I was only here for brunch--which serves a traditional American fare, cooked well at OK portions--I could have come here to do laundry, buy some groceries, shop for some home repair hardware, restock on bait, and rented some small construction machines. If the zombies make it out of the cities, I am coming here.

Went here twice for breakfast on my last visit to the lake. Nothing extraordinary here, just a real cafe about as far from a corporate Perkins as you can get. Good basic diner staples and well prepared breakfast dishes. The 'Favorite' breakfast (2 eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast) was spot on and came with a friendly server. I had the pancakes the next day and they were not very good - over-cooked and hard on one side - seems like they may have been microwaved. That said, I will give the place the benefit of the doubt based on the authenticity of the place and on the other breakfast I ordered. Save some time to explore the attached hardware store. It too, is the real deal.

I've only been here for breakfast, but let me say, it is fabulous. The eggs are always cooked perfectly, which is rare. (I ask for over-medium, and my sister asks for halfway between over-easy and over-medium.) The hash browns are perfectly crispy. They offer homemade oatmeal, which is quite tasty, and the biscuits and gravy are excellent (according to my husband). Let me also say that this is in a hardware store, which is pretty crazy. The staff is very friendly and the prices are really cheap, which seems rare for the area. Overall I'm just very impressed.
